Hello everybody!
As suggested in the forums, our index page isn’t really helpful in most cases; the suggestion was to replace it with a blog that is updated a few times a week with interesting posts from the forum and other news.
I think that is a wonderful idea, so we have implemented it and styled it to look like the rest of the website. At first, it will only reside at http://www.distant-help.com/blog, until a poll has decided to replace the front page with the blog.
So, let’s get those forum updates started: First of all, we are still looking for suggestions to revive Distant-Help. In the thread Distant-Help’s Future, you can post suggestions and comments.
If you use a Mac, there is a topic called “Into the deep” with interesting software for automatically backing up your data until we all get to enjoy the pleasures of Time Machine in Mac OS 10.5, due for release in the first half of 2007. There are also links to some gold mines of Mac software you really should check out!
In other news, Windows Vista Release Candidate 2 (RC2) has been released to a select few of testers and should be widely available for testing soon. It seems as if Microsoft is finally on track to meet its latest deadline for releasing Windows Vista, in Q1 of 2007.
