Our usual home has been killed by hackers… thanks folks, really appreciate ![]()
Well they were bad but someone on server hasn’t kept scripts up to date… for me it is shared responsibility..
Enough of that and let’s look to the future again.
Forum is dead, RIP, since no on posted in weeks anymore, I decided to just close it down. No help anymore, no think tank.. just this blog that will stay and the links system. The forum will be used for another project I have, and that is not in any way related to it’s old use. I’ll post about it once the project has matured.
That’s about it for now. Going to spend a few more hours getting other parts and sites I have up and running again.
Till new news, this blog is for me and Jens. Feel free to comment, it’s there for that. ![]()

that really sucks but its for the best Eric
Too bad
I know how frustrating it is to get hacked like that, since I used to run a server myself.
Best of luck with your site, hopefully you can put the forum back on, since some of the threads on it are still quite helpful
Well that’s the way it goes these days… you try to offer a nice home and a few love to just break it…
For the forum, technically it is there working but I closed it. I’m not going to spend each year money and with Jens so many hours to keep it u to date for an archive. I didn’t see more then 10 posts in 2 months. Meaning it lost it’s goal.
If some one knows a simple way to keep the archive alive without a VB license, i don’t mind to put it up somewhere… but I won’t pay the license for it anymore.
I suppose you can always try anoter type of forum, something like SMF? That way, you can have an archive of the entire forum without paying.
I’m quite sure there’s a converter out there to transform VB into SMF.
I totally understand how you feel too, I used to give things such as free hosting with lots of priviledges to users who need it… but it’s always abused by idiots sigh
I suppose it was good while it lasted :p
I’m looking into this. But not this week since I’m a little overbooked. And I want something extra simple to maintain afterwards. Almost something that would do it on it’s own. Not time to keep upgrading and upgrading just because of security. Ad just for an archive. But I’ll do my best to keep it somehow.
I got an email from your forum, and the smf forum looks pretty nice.
Thanks for all your effort, Eric.
Happy holidays!
