I got an email from your forum, and the smf forum looks pretty nice.

Thanks for all your effort, Eric.
Happy holidays!

I'm looking into this. But not this week since I'm a little overbooked. And I want something extra simple to maintain afterwards. Almost something that would do it on it's own. Not time to keep upgrading and upgrading just because of security. Ad just for an archive. But I'll do my best to keep it somehow.

I suppose you can always try anoter type of forum, something like SMF? That way, you can have an archive of the entire forum without paying.
I'm quite sure there's a converter out there to transform VB into SMF.

I totally understand how you feel too, I used to give things such as free hosting with lots of priviledges to users who need it... but it's always abused by idiots sigh
I suppose it was good while it lasted :p

Well that's the way it goes these days... you try to offer a nice home and a few love to just break it...
For the forum, technically it is there working but I closed it. I'm not going to spend each year money and with Jens so many hours to keep it u to date for an archive. I didn't see more then 10 posts in 2 months. Meaning it lost it's goal.
If some one knows a simple way to keep the archive alive without a VB license, i don't mind to put it up somewhere... but I won't pay the license for it anymore.

Too bad :(
I know how frustrating it is to get hacked like that, since I used to run a server myself.

Best of luck with your site, hopefully you can put the forum back on, since some of the threads on it are still quite helpful :)
